My name is Jake, and here at Journey Van Builds my focus is on helping you embrace the journey of your build. To give you the best information, support, and confidence necessary to create a quality, highly functional and of course - stunning - conversion that you can be extremely proud of.
Journey Van Builds is all about empowering DIY van lifers to take on their builds with confidence and having a good time while doing it. Think of me as your van-obsessed mate, here to help you dodge pitfalls, keep you motivated when things get tricky, and share tips I’ve picked up through years in the industry.
Unlike builders who focus on converting vans for customers, my focus is on you—the DIY enthusiast. I’m here to build a community where we can swap experiences, share solutions, and lift each other up through this process we’re all passionate about.
I started out in construction back home and took that hands-on experience with me to Germany, where my own van-building journey kicked off. I snagged my first van without a clue, no tools, and nowhere to work—but I loved every second of it. In fact, the build process itself became the best part.
"The journey is the goal" is my motto, and here, we celebrate all of it: the wins, the lessons, and those “what was I thinking?” moments.
