Toyota HiAce Van Conversion: Easy Step-by-Step Guide to Framing Your Van!

In this video, I’m walking you through the process of framing out the interior of my Toyota HiAce—a key step in any van conversion. Whether you’re working on a HiAce or another small van, this method using marine plywood strips, self-tapping screws, and a nut riveter can be used to securely attach your timber framing to the walls and ceiling. I’ll run you through the materials and tools you will need, show you the process from cutting your strips and handling tricky curved surfaces, to fixing your framing in the right positions. After this step the rough interior of your van will be tamed into nice and consistent lines that will make your wall and ceiling installs a breeze. If you're a HiAce owner, this one’s especially for you, but the principles apply to any van. Helping you have the best experience on your van build journey is what I’m all about! Got questions about your build? Drop them in the comments, and let’s get that van built together!
